Early Cardiovascular Health Outreach (ECHO) became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit on September 3rd, 2025. One year later and we continue to grow at an exponential rate! We are so thankful for our team and community. Together we have launched programs, shared activities, and made memories. Here’s a snapshot of some of our highlights:
💛 Launched the Echo Explorers program
💛 Launched the Echo Heroes program
💛 Launched The ECHO Wishing Well program
💛 Launched the Plaqtrick Goo Day program
💛 Taught hundreds of people how to fold origami heart bookmarks
💛 Handed out thousands of educational placemats alongside the Kaukau4Keiki summer mealbox program
💛 Hosted our first Paint and Nourish event
Earlier this month, we celebrated ECHO’s 1st birthday! We partnered with the Mō’ili’ili Public Library for a Mind-Well themed evening of learning, crafting, and reading. We gathered with the community for a special birthday presentation where people met our characters and learned about The Wishing Well program. During the presentation, Founder and CEO of ECHO, Kim, took a few minutes to read one of her favorite books to the partygoers — In My Heart written by Jo Witek. After that, we invited everyone to tap into their creativity to learn how to fold Save Your Spot With A Heart origami bookmarks, as well as color birthday coloring pages.

We are honored to have spent time with the 74th Cherry Blossom Festival Court, who came out to join us for the celebration! They had some very sweet thoughts they shared with us:
74th Cherry Blossom Festival Queen and Miss Congeniality, Aime Le said, “Thank you to ECHO and Friends for inviting the Cherry Blossom Festival Court to celebrate such a special milestone with you… It was such a sweet and meaningful way to bring people of all ages together…”
74th Cherry Blossom Festival Princess Kiʻilaweau Kakie Aweau said, “I am a big fan of the library! I’m so grateful that ECHO could host a read-along and an origami heart bookmark event… I’ll be using my bookmark for my library books and be reminded of the Mind-Well intention I set!”
74th Cherry Blossom Festival Princess Lauren Katayama said, “I had so much fun learning and promoting heart health with ECHO! I enjoyed my time and would recommend attending for all ages!”
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mō’ili’ili Public Library’s branch manager and librarian Hillary Chang for welcoming The ECHO Wishing Well into the library and helping us launch this service project to the community. She also had some kind words she shared with us about the event:
“It’s such a worthwhile event that brings awareness and recognition for the parts of your life that really do add to your overall heart health.”
Thank you to all of our wonderful ECHO friends and family; it’s been an amazing year, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
